DecemberHolidays are here - Hope you and all of yours are safe and happy this Christmas Season. Happy Holidays! The seasonal slow down hasn't come like it usually does. We've maintained a pretty even pace up to the Christmas weekend. Redesigned web presence: The National CAD Services web site went through some growing pains recently. Stretching outside of it's previous format has been a liberating experience. The freedom and flexibility of this new format will allow for greater ease of maintenance and management. We all learn to perform our responsibilities with greater skill and dexterity as time progresses. This web site has been such a learning process. NovemberHappy Thanksgiving! OctoberHappy Halloween! CareFirst needed to get control of its 1.4 million square feet of office space in the Maryland / Washington D.C. area. NCS was able to travel to each of the offices and collect both architectural and employee data. This data was transferred to CAD and then into a custom MapGuide program called MACO. Our partnership with Jones Lang LaSalle (Chicago) and CAD Effects, LLC. (St. Louis) made this project a great success. The MACO program allows the CareFirst management team to accurately track and coordinate the location of all employees and cost centers in their 22 buildings. The web based interface provides tools for searching and turning on and off layers to customize how the information is viewed and printed. All this power and information is accessible to the management team wherever they are located throughout the world. SeptemberGuardian Building This historic treasure of the Detroit skyline recently changed ownership. In the process, long time tenant MichCon moved out of the building which left it with an unusually high vacancy rate. National CAD Services was contracted to provide as-built drawings of the 39 floors. With accurate area calculations the Property Managers were able to fill the vacant spaces, dramatically reducing the vacancy rate of the building. They are also now empowered with plans for remodeling and restoration work. |
