CAD Future
The future of CAD is bright. However this statement implies that a CAD user will continue to improve their skills, growing as the industry evolves. This requires considerable time and dedication on the part of the individual, most likely outside of normal business hours. Is your company willing to invest in the future? What about you?

Do you think you would like to go there? Not to be confused with the 70's band, the Fifth Dimension we refer to is the ability to add to the 3D world 2 more dimensions. These 2 additional dimensions are time and cost. The company Graphisoft has developed and real world tested the latest and greatest in CAD products. This is not for the designers it's for the constructors and will create a new marketable job catagory to the industry. Eliminate the waste and ensure the future
There is a recent report that states the AEC industry as a whole is wasting $15.8 billion a year in inefficient interoperability. The communication that we do on a daily basis with each other, the file sharing and the like are the culprit. The future of the industry must address this waste and become more efficient.

Could BIM be bad?
In an article by Chris I. Yessios, Ph.D. President and CEO, auto·des·sys, Inc he says, what about the "main priority of the AEC... design"? The recent pounding of the BIM pulpit misses the mark in meeting the needs of the industry. He believes that the BIM zealots are moving in the wrong direction.

In a evolutionary move the Construction Specifications Institute unveiled a new format that will redesign the way we do specification well into the future. In much the same way it's original standards organized the industry, these will bring design and construction into greater order.
