Company History
1992 - NCS was established in the summer of 1992, a group of CAD operators had a dream of running a business that focused on helping companies with computer-aided drafting and design support and services. Our first office was in Troy, a (2) room suite.1993 - NCS moved to Bingham Farms into a larger suite and by the end of the year had hired their first employee. We were off and running. 1994 - Business was growing; we hired (4) more employees and began to automate the office with more functional equipment. 1995 - NCS moved again on the same floor to a bigger suite in January that held our now (10) employees. Bought more equipment, automated the payroll and accounting packages and continued growing our client base. 1996 - NCS needed to move again on the same floor to the suite we currently reside in now. We hired (7) more employees, totaling (17), which filled the new office. We started defining and developing roles and goals for the employees and spent a lot of time training and managing everyone. 1997 - Many lessons were learned during this year as the company developed new complexity and managerial responsibilities. For us, at this time it was becoming very difficult to maintain the level of efficiency we enjoyed in the past. 1998 - This was our worst year in the history of NCS. We were busy as a company, but had some major growing pains. Struggling through this year not only redefined the company, it made us stronger for the future. 1999 - This year was very interesting; we had some rough times in the beginning. Through the strength and renewed commitment of management and staff the company started moving in a positive direction again. NCS was back to being profitable and managing the company effectively. NCS focused on more training and ways to become more efficient, building upon our strengths and eliminating our weaknesses. 2000 - NCS continued to build upon the prior year and it was starting to pay off. Key employees started taking on more responsibility and the company was ready for them. NCS was ready to go after larger projects. 2001 - In the spring of 2001 NCS was awarded our largest project to date. Ford Motor Land Development, along with Infiniti Systems Group in Cleveland, awarded NCS with 8 million sq. ft. of as-builts (including furniture systems) and an additional 15 million sq. ft. of data / occupancy collection. NCS had to bring in an additional 35 people to handle the workload. The commitment of our project managers and staff made this project successful for both client and NCS. We were able to accomplish this with no drop in service to our existing client base. 2002 - As the Ford project continued into 2002, NCS completed an additional 5 million sq. ft. and was awarded a maintenance contract for the up coming year. NCS was also celebrating our 10-year anniversary, as a company and it was our best year ever. 2003 - As the Ford project ended we had to reorganize the company to meet the new workload. As the year went on and the economy took a down turn and many companies had to lay off employees, we felt the same crunch. In order to maintain growth, NCS has developed our new Web site and marketing information, which we will be actively promoting in 2004. 2004 - We are grateful for a successful year. Mid year held a number of large fast paced projects. A recent upgrade to AutoCAD 2005 will allow us to increase the productivity of our highly trained and experienced team. Another new web site launch at the end of the year will better serve our visitors. 2005 - The year with much promise ended up a struggle because of the single state depression in Michigan. The Big 3 and their Tier 1 suppliers are all struggling. The government has been impotent at defending the Constitution and the establishment of a free market that permits companies to determine their own destiny. Government in all their sacrimonious pomp, and egocentric glory, gorge themselves on stupid greed and false philanthrope. Become a producer by being a Capitalist and leave the Socialist systems for other counteries. 2006 - Moved to a new location in Metro Detroit. Royal Oak became our new home the last week of June. Looking forward to the Woodward Dream Cruise. Upgraded to AutoCAD & ADT 2007 and are enjoying the productivity increases. | |||||||
